Guides at the Garden

On Friday 20th, we were joined by members of 1st Petersfield and 2nd Sheet Guides. They made a bug hotel, and planted wild plants and blackcurrant bushes

After dark fell, they gathered in the ‘social space’ in the middle of the garden and sang songs and toasted marshmallows on a campfire

Shed on its way…

Tim, Benjamin, Tom & Charlie dismantling the shed

This is to let you know that today four men dismantled the shed for us. The shed is now neatly stacked and ready for transportation to the Community Garden.

Many thanks to Tony and Abby Wilson (the donors) and huge thanks to Charles Bevan (the foreman and tool provider) and to Tom Bevan, Tim Rose and Benjamin Rose (the workmen). It was a seriously demanding job and they worked seriously hard. They also did a great clear-up with trips to the tip.

This however is only the beginning! The next tasks are (i)  to get it to the site and (ii) to cut it down a bit and reconstruct it.

Thanks also to Amanda, Sue and Emily who came to see it and were encouraging!

Recent garden pictures!

I’ve just tried the instructions for ‘adding a gallery’ as an experiment: you upload the files, then in a new post select ‘add media’ (button at top) & ‘add gallery’ Unfortunately the movie clip I took of Emily’s Sparsholt shuffle is in quicktime *.mov format, which wordpress doesn’t recognise: I’ve uploaded this vital instructional video to youtube:

Frost observation

Just to record that when we went past on the train at 7.30 this morning there was ground frost on the northwest-facing slope of the garden, but not the slight rise by the north west boundary. Hardly surprising, but useful to note – Keith & Lynn
